Phato Safari Zone Booking – Timings, Price & Safari Info
The Phato Safari Zone is one of the newest and most exciting additions to the Jim Corbett National Park. Located near the Dhela and Ramnagar area, the Phato zone was officially opened to tourists in 2022 and quickly gained popularity due to its untouched wilderness, rich biodiversity, and excellent safari experiences.
Overview of Phato Zone
Phato lies within the buffer zone of the Corbett Tiger Reserve and offers an immersive forest experience with dense Sal trees, grasslands, water bodies, and hilly terrains. Unlike the more commercial zones of Jim Corbett, Phato remains less crowded, offering better chances of sighting wildlife in a peaceful setting.
The zone is known for sightings of Royal Bengal Tigers, leopards, elephants, sloth bears, deer, and a wide variety of bird species. It’s a paradise for wildlife photographers and nature lovers looking for a raw and authentic safari experience.
Safari Timings
The Phato Safari Zone offers jeep safaris in two slots daily, which vary slightly with the season:
Morning Safari: 6:15 AM – 10:10 AM
Evening Safari: 2:15 PM – 6:00 PM
It is advisable to reach the Phato Gate at least 30 minutes before your scheduled safari time for permit checks and vehicle allocation.
